UK Visa Sponsorship
How I Got a New UK Visa Sponsorship Job in 6 Weeks — When My Sponsor Licence Was Revoked
My company lost their sponsor licence. I had a short time to find a new sponsor, or leave the UK.

It was a Tuesday morning. I was still in my work uniform. I'd just sat down after my shift, completely tired, my legs aching.
I opened my phone and saw an email with this subject line:
“Notice: Sponsor Licence Revoked.”
My stomach dropped.
I read it again, slowly, just to make sure I was understanding it correctly. My company had lost its sponsor licence. That meant they could no longer sponsor me. I had a short time to find a new sponsor, or I would have to leave the UK.
If you've ever been in that kind of visa situation, you'll understand. It's not the kind of fear you can easily explain to someone. It's just there in your head the whole day. You go to work. You come home. And all you can think about is: what am I going to do now, what am I going to do.
That job wasn't just a job for me. It was my flat. My life here. Everything I'd worked towards since coming to the UK. And suddenly, it all had an end date.
How I Got That First Job
Let me go back a bit.
I came to the UK to study. After finishing university, I needed to find a job that could sponsor me, otherwise I'd have to go back to India. So like many international students, I started looking into care work.
There were agents everywhere. “We can sort your sponsorship.” “We can get you a CoS.” One company told me they could sponsor me, but it would cost £17,950.
At that time, I didn't really question it. I was tired. I was worried about having to leave the UK. And honestly, quite a few people I knew were also paying that kind of money, some even more. It almost felt normal, like this was just what you had to do to get sponsorship.
So I paid it, little by little. My family back in India helped me. I also put in money I'd saved from part-time jobs while studying. I kept telling myself it would all be worth it. I started the job, worked hard, and for about two years, everything was fine.
Then that email came.
Searching Again, With No Money to Waste
The first thing I thought was: I need to find another sponsor, quickly. The second thing was: there is absolutely no way I'm paying £17,950 again.
I didn't even have that kind of money anymore. And somewhere in my mind, I kept asking myself something I'd never really thought about before: did I actually need to pay all that money the first time?
I opened LinkedIn. I opened Indeed. I searched for things like “care sponsorship UK” and “visa sponsorship jobs.”
And honestly, it wasn't a quick search. This went on for almost 4 months.
Almost every other day, I was applying to at least 50 job posts. Care jobs. Other jobs. Anything that looked like there might be sponsorship available. So many of them didn't even mention sponsorship. When I messaged companies to ask, some never replied. Some simply said, “We do not sponsor.” A few said yes, but when I checked properly, either their licence wasn't active, or they were just using the word sponsorship to attract applicants and wasting people's time.
Every night after my shift, I'd be checking company names against the government sponsor list, trying to work out which ones were genuine. It honestly felt like I was doing another full-time job just looking for a job.
And even on my days off, I couldn't properly relax. Some days I'd go around care homes and other businesses myself, handing out my CV and asking if they were hiring. I was exhausted. I was trying everything I could think of. Still, nothing was working out.

The Day Everything Changed
I'm in quite a few WhatsApp groups. If you're Indian and living in the UK, you know how it is. There's always some group or another. Indian community groups, jobs groups, and one called “UK Desi Support” that my cousin had added me to.
One evening, I was just scrolling through the messages, not even paying much attention, when I saw someone had shared a website called VisaJobFinder. Someone in the group had asked if anybody knew a genuine way to find sponsorship jobs without going through agents, and another person replied with the link and a short message.

Initially, I didn't think much of it. I'd already seen so many “solutions” being shared online that turned out to be useless. But something about the way this person explained it made me stop scrolling. The message said it was different from LinkedIn and Indeed. The jobs were from companies that could sponsor and were actually looking for people who needed visa sponsorship.
That night, after my shift, I opened the link from the WhatsApp chat (VisaJobFinder.com), not really expecting much.
The Website That Changed Things
But straight away, it felt different. On normal job sites, sponsorship is something a company might mention, if they even bother to mention it. On VisaJobFinder, the jobs were there because the companies could sponsor and were hiring people who needed it. I didn't have to keep guessing. I didn't have to spend my nights checking the government list anymore. I didn't have to keep messaging people just to hear “sorry, we don't sponsor.”
There were so many jobs. Care jobs, yes, but also other types of work I hadn't even considered before. For the first time in months, I actually felt like I had some proper options instead of just going through hundreds of random job listings.
And the part that genuinely surprised me: it was only £24 to access. After everything, after paying £17,950, after four months of stress, this thing that actually helped me was £24. I kept thinking, seriously? Just £24?
What Happened in Those 6 Weeks
I'm not saying it was easy. I still had to apply. I still had to prepare properly. I still had to attend interviews like everyone else. But this time, the whole job search felt different.
Within the first few days, I started getting replies. Actual employers contacting me to arrange interviews. By the second week, I'd already attended three interviews. By the fourth week, I had a verbal offer. And by the sixth week, I'd signed with a new company that was ready to take over my sponsorship. And nobody asked me to pay another £17,950.
I still remember sitting in my car after that final phone call, when everything was confirmed. I just sat there for a while, taking it all in. For the first time since receiving that email, I could actually relax. That constant worry I'd been carrying around for weeks was finally gone.
The Part That Still Bothers Me
One thing I still can't get over is this: I paid £17,950 for something I later realised I didn't need to spend that kind of money on.
I'm not saying every agent is bad. And it's not just agents either. Some companies themselves ask people for money under the table for a CoS or a sponsorship job. Sometimes they don't even call it an agent fee. They'll just say “pay this amount and we'll sort your sponsorship.” That's how common it has become. Of course, there are genuine costs involved in the visa process. But when I think about what I paid the first time compared to the second time, it still bothers me.
£17,950 the first time. £24 the second time. Same kind of outcome: a sponsor, a CoS, a job. Just without a middleman, without those ridiculous “processing fees,” and without someone taking advantage of my situation.
When I think about myself paying £17,950 out of fear, simply because I didn't know there was another way, I don't even feel stupid about it. I just wish somebody had told me earlier. That's the main reason I'm writing this. I'm sure there are people reading this right now who are in the same situation, worried about their visa and thinking they need to spend thousands of pounds just to stay in the UK.
You might not need to.
If You Are Where I Was
If your company has just lost its sponsor licence, or you need to switch your visa, or you're simply tired of applying to companies that don't actually offer sponsorship, I genuinely understand how stressful it can be. It's a different kind of worry. Unless you've been through it yourself, it's difficult to explain to someone.
I can't promise that VisaJobFinder will work exactly the same way for you as it did for me. Everyone's situation is different. But what I can say is this: having a list of companies that could actually sponsor and were genuinely hiring made a massive difference during those 6 weeks. And it saved me from having to pay another huge amount of money.
After it worked for me, I started sharing the website in my WhatsApp groups and on Facebook as well, just like somebody had shared it with me. People started using it. And I've been getting messages from people saying they found genuine sponsorship jobs, people saying they finally started getting interviews, and others saying they didn't have to pay huge agent fees again. That's one of the reasons I'm still happy to recommend it. I don't work for them. I just know what it did for me and what I've seen it do for other people.
If you're in that situation right now, the website I used is VisaJobFinder.com, a total life changer.
Don't lose hope. You have more options than you might think.
